Social events are one of the most important parts of the York Law Society. They offer an amazing chance for members to broaden their career opportunities and engage with our sponsors in a relaxed environment. We aim for 2023/24 to be the greatest academic year for York Law Society social events.

FLAGGING SYSTEM FOR EVENTS
For the coming academic year, The Law Society is introducing a new system to ensure consistent attendance and mitigate low turnout for important events. Essentially it is a system whereby if you have purchased one our free and number limited tickets for events, such as a panel, and you do not attend without letting us know, you will be flagged within our database of attendees. If you are flagged more than twice, you will be prevented from coming to the next similar free and number capped event.
We will be understanding of mitigating circumstances in which you may not be able to attend at short notice, but in all other circumstances we will require you to inform us prior to the event so your ticket may be given to someone else. This is to ensure a fair way to make sure everyone that wants to come can come as we always have less tickets than members.
